Hi. I don't live in england so am no help there.
If you are teck savvy, hen there is no reason why you can't do it yourself.
there are a number of wiring kits on the market that you just need to feer through, 1 kit that springs to mind is "Painless Wiring" it is an Australian or american kit which sold for about $500 AU approx 200 to 300 pounds i think.
I have a few books on wiring cars that i follow but all you really need is a decant wiring diagram and a bit of patience.
I thought I would just let you know about the kits incase you were interested
Hope it all works out for you.

I bought a complete loom from mini sport for about £200. They are easy to fit and reconnect, however you will need a few things such as another mini to refere to if need be (or lable everything that you take of and match it to the new loom) a haynes manual (they are quite good as long as it is not used as in "this is what it says so its got to be right!"!) It took me, a female, alone an hour and a half to get in the car. Mini sport have also been on the end of the phone whenever i have needed them! Might be worth giving it a go your self if your brave enough rather than forking out a small fortune to get it done.

It cost me £400 to get my front loom replaced, that included wiring in extra spots and fogs and putting the fuse box inside the car. (I think that price included the front loom I bought, but I'm not sure).
