I'm having some problems with my brakes. Its a 1990 mini with servo.
The brakes bleed up but pedal is going down half way. Its not holding the pedal.
Any ideas?

look for leaks, start on the rear wheel cylinders you will have to remove the drums see if the rubbers wet if not look inside, all dry then look to see if a pipes weeping. go on until you get to the master cylinder get someone to push the brake pedal see if you can spot air bubbles in the resorvior. should you still not find any leaks then you will have to get someone to help you bleed the system properly.

I've checked that there's no leaks or air in the system.

I know you've said no leaks, but just stick your hand up around the pedal, sometimes the master can weep and the fluid can run down the pedal inside the car.

there must be at some point other wise the pedal would be correct. how have you bleed the system? have you had it to bits to fit new parts?
I had a customer with a Lotus Europa which they the other garage could not get any presure on the pedal, Europas are hard you have to lift one end this allows air to move around even then the pedal still lost presure, in the end I found air being drawn into the system via the rear brake cylinder, once it was cleaned up and new seals fitted the problem was solved

I've checked that today are there's no leaks.

The brakes are working but the pressure goes away and you have to pump the pedal to get any pressure back.
I've new pipes and hoses fitted.

It really sounds like you need to bleed the system. you can get a vacum bleed system works a treat. read the manuel to see which system you have, and then have another go.
