Metro Gta Engine Indentifcation Specs? Help

hi, i got given i what is said to be a metro gta engine? im not to sure what spec/diferences this is to the mg and the standard 1275. also on how to identify that it is a gta engine.

if anyone knows more please let me know

I'm pretty sure it is the MG spec, or very close to it. GTa's were produced late on in a-series Metro production (89 and 90) so will be very likely to have an unleaded head.

You could do with having your engine number decoded.

Nah, there was an A series'd GTa which weren't actually that bad...

Well in fact there was the MG, GTa and Sport which were all mechanically the same engine wise... The VDP was usually an Auto block... but there were some manuals.
