Do you mean one of these?

Commonly known as a spit. I believe you can buy them but if the work you're doing is serious enough to have the car upside down you're more than capable of making one.

You can also use them on Barbeques, when not turning a mini on them! :proud:

They're all home made as far as I'm aware so there's no proper name, spit seems the most common term for them.

There are ads for them in the back of Practical Classics Mag.

The "proper name" that I have seen the most is "rotisserie". However, I suspect the term changes from place to place around the world.

Technically the proper name would be something like a Roto-dip carriage fixture but using that would mean having half the Longbridge or Cowley body assembly plant in your garage. As Ethel suggests, anything you can get to do it is not really a proper special tool but something put together for classic restorers to solve the problem. JuJu lists many different versions but if you want one that uses the original Roto-dip aperture try M-Machine. I think they hire them out and provide adaptor brackets for the many different body styles of Minis.

You could just tip the shell over on to an old mattress or tyres.
