Right, there's plenty of you out there who've built Z Car Minis, but How much do they cost? I've got the impression from some posts I've read that they can be done for around £15000, but others sound more like they've cost double that? All of the work woud be carried out by myself (and some help from a close friend of the family who's a bit of a Mini specialist) so the labour cost wouldn't come into it

Id say around £15k for an ok one, Spose it all depends on what upgrades and parts you use.

That's not too bad then. So you can say you'd have something pretty trick for £20k? What sort of time does it take to build one? Has anyone ever counted the man hours involved?

if you have a £15 to 20k budget you will build a nice car with all the big brakes decent exhaust etc etc
time taken to build depends on how trick you want to be in the fit and finish of the car when done
it doesnt take long to get the car rolling but trimming and fitting the fiddly bits takes time
reckon on 350 to 400 hours to build a nice car
what you can do is look at the other builds on the site here and pick the features you like from other builds
we always have a good number of either fully built or part built ones in at the workshops as well which are good to look over
if you want a demo and factory visit then feel free to call us to arrange a time
we open most weekends for demos if that suits you better
finally we do a dvd which shws how they go together if you havent already seen one
