Hi,

Me and my mate both drive mini's and want to go on a mini run in a couple of weeks and i suggested about putting in CB radio's in each of our cars so we can talk to each other. My budget is limited, can anyone tell me exactly what i need and how it works so me and my mate can chat to each other when we are in convoy.

thanks

Pop to maplins (or argos) and pick up a £20 pair of 2 way hand held radio's.... i did and they are ace!!! just for passing the time, finding a lost soul or arranging lunch/fuel/brakedown stops!!! CB's are GREAT (i have one too) but i use the 2 way more!!!!

i bought mine off ebay £16!..with a power mic, but i thing non power mic's are better

typical setup

FM CB (Make sure its an FM unit! with a microphone)
FM Ariel (I have a magmount £15 from maplins)

Typical cb will plu into the cigarette lighter, and a rang of @ 5miles

I have fitted mine into my centre console, with the cable to the magmount ariel fed out the back window, mag mount on the roof.
