Lol, what the hell is a racing carb needle??

And if he takes that to 8k revs very often then he's not going to go much faster than a snail on crutches.

9 secs? and 60+ on a stage 1? I'm no expert but hmmmmmmmm yes mate...

Everything is racing on that car! Racing falkens/budget tyres whats the difference lol!

what jammy you mean you shouldn't constantly rev that high? 8k wouldn't want to try it! 4.5k blows my ear drums!

Its pretty much the same spec as my mini!

Mines 55bhp at the fly it revs to about 6k if i push it and i reckon i could get a 0-60 to nearly 10 seconds and a top speed of about 85 (after about half an hour of accelerating!) :w00t:

you sure about that 10 secs? my old 72bhp MG metro used to make around 13 on a good day slightly downhill. Haven't timed the mini, oh yea because i don't have a working speedo at the moment lol!!!

Well i've only really tried doing it once and that was pulling off of a country lane onto a major road. I had my windows open but was counting in my head and got to 11 seconds? :w00t:

ok then, i used to do that. try it from some lights with a stop watch, get a mate next to you shout start an stop to him at the right times an see what you get. You might be right could just be me. I think for a standard 998 it is 16-17 seconds? so add say 20% more power? (stage 1) and 14?

Just remember, the 1275 Cooper S only did 0-60 in 12 or so seconds.

And the early cars were lighter with more grunt !!!!

ive got a proper timing device and my stage 1 998 not set up properly did 0-60 in 13.78secs i suppose his could be about 11secs if its all bang on but why rev to 8k if its got a standard cam and how the doesnt he get valve bounce?!

100mph is achieveable in a stage 1 998 though :w00t:

I can get up to about 85 on a flat road but it takes a while!

Even before i had the stage 1 or any proper tuning i'd gone well off the 90mph clock downhill! ;) Thats was on the L2B with all the camping gear! MOMENTUM! ;)
