Ok guys and girls, time for the most silly question asked so far.

Time has come for me to ask the difference between all the Minis, in terms of bodywork? They all look slightly different, and after a convosation with someone today I'm utterly confused. Whats the difference?!

I don't understand ;D

Mayfairs...Sprite....Flame...City....etc etc

I'm trying to decide which to get. I want a project and I don't know which type or car to get because I don't know the difference between them.

Thank you!

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there are bodywork differences between different models such as city, sprite etc. The only differences came about by year and mark. For example early minis had external door hinges and the grilles and lights changed over the 41 years the Mini was in production. Generally most parts will fit most minis though.

Would I be wrong in thinking a MK1 front end is slightly smaller than say a MK3 onwards?

Well to make it easier....I'm looking at something around 1989-1995 type age for my project.

Generally the panels you buy are "Mk3 on" and I believe Mk3 is 1976 on? So late 80's to mid 90's should all be the same panels.

I suppose colours can make sizes look different? also different arches & wheels alter the difference, like 13 make the car look slightly bigger due to wigth ect? unless your looking at a clubman & a roundnose mini
