Hey,
Just looking at diff options for a RWD project. Obviously there are plenty out there running Sierra rear diffs, but those are harder and harder to come by with a suitable (3.54) ratio as the Sierra becomes less and less common. Looking at the Freelander rear end, they are readily available and seem to have a suitable ratio, plus they weigh less. Only problem is I can find conflicting reports on what the actual ratios are.
I have found 2 options - 3.14 and 3.6 (approx) out there on the web - along with quite a bit of discussion over viscous coupling problems on the Land Rover, and the rear diff ratio being changed as part of the solution in later models.
Can anyone supply a definitive answer on which ratio is fitted to which model and year?
Many Thanks....
Dave.

Im not sure mate but I know somebody who would be 100% on the subject. Ill ask them tomorrow if u like. Do the rear diffs for the freeland come with LSD's? If not, imagine retro fitting an air locker sytem so one second its a doddle to drive, the next its a drift wagon lol
