Hi all

My SPi has just crashed and burned on the MOT. It has never ran brilliantly as it cuts out at low revs. The garage said that it did not run long enough to test emmisions, but it looked like it was gong to fail on CO2.

I've been reading posts and looked at the ECU. There is a thin black pipe that goes about a foot then ends in a broken connector. That's it!!! There is a thin yellow pipe that runs from the top of the air filter for about 6 inches then stops on a broken connector. I can't find the third one (possible should be red) at all.

Could somebody let me know in as much detail as possible (photos would be a BIG help).

1. Roughly how big a problem is this causing.
2. Where the 3 pipes should go.
3. Where I can get replacement pipes from at short notice.

It's my only form of transport, the MOT is up and tax runs out at the end of the month!!

Ta

Paul

This will cause all sorts of problems......... their is a pipe from the bottom of the ECU to an oil trap to the left side of the throttle body..then out of the oil trap and into the back of the Throttlebody.............. at the back of the throttlebody assy is 2 nipples 1 for the oil trap to ECU pipe........ the other for the air filter pipe.......... these tubes are for the monitor and control of your vacumm levels and without these connected you will have horrendous running problems also your fuel bills will be through the roof.........

use Samco vacumm line or in desperation use old distributor advance/retard tube from scrap yard

the rubber elbows usually perish so replacethese as well..

I suggest you buy a haynes also and check the rest of the car then find someone with a FCR and get it plugged up and checked.

Hope this helps

Rob
