The Metro became the Rover 100 some time in 1990 (I think? or was it 1991?) and it then got fitted with the 'K' series engine instead.
So it's a very late 1980's/very early 1990's engine in that case? (1989 or 1990 I'd say if pushed?)

Well considering the fact the Metro probably only went unleaded some time during 1989 (like the Mini), then that engine must be of 1989/1990 stock?

cheers i finally got me head round the 2nd one two onli just tho but i caunt work out the 1st one and my insuraunce are wanting £1800 if they dont no where the engine came from and what year aarrgghhh the fun minis bring lol
it wouldnt possibly be a metro would it ?
PS... change your insurance firm as they don't know their arse from their elbow...
