My dad tells me there is a ratio for trimmimg a bit off the end of the rear suspension cone to lower the car but he cant remember what the ratio is. I only want to lower it at the rear by about an inch to level it up to the front a bit

Don't level it up, Minis are meant to be a little higher at the back. If they are levelled up they get twitchy. If it's a lot higher at the back then it's probably because the front has fallen.

I know all the suspension bits are fine, doughnuts, dampers etc, the rear has approx 80-90mm clearance between my wheel arch and the front has approx 25-30mm so id at least like to try and bring the rear to about 45-50mm

That seem quite high. You haven't taken out all the glass and trim or used late front knuckle joints at the back have you?

It was a comletely standard mayfair with 16.5k on the clock when i bought it. It was registed in late 93 and went into storage in 96 until may this year so i assume its completely standard.
Ive fitted 6x12" minilites on it and grp 6 arches i may have fixed the fronts a little lower than i should have but the rear arches can only go in one place.
i just want to level it up a little
