If like me you have set up your suspension geometry yourself and not had it done at zcars theres something important to check at the rear which i dont think has been covered.

Basically my nearside driveshaft burst out of the hub cv joint last week while travelling down a bumpy road. Looks like my rear arms were set too far out at the rod ends ie the ends of the driveshaft were too close to the limits of the cv joint. over the bumps it must have reached the limit of movement and eventually beyond.

When i originally set the geometry the drivehaft was tight in the cvs and i couldnt move them. i therefore moved the arms out to ensure there was a bit of movement. I didnt really take any measurements of how far i could move the shaft.

After talking to Chris there is a check which should be done. With the driveshaft horizontal force the driveshaft into the spring loaded hub cv by levering the inner cv away from the bearing. This movement wants to be 10mm max but check with Chris as he said it can be tighter.

Just to note, i have about 2mm of toe in and 1.5 neg camber at the rear. The trailing arms are set just about as far out as possible. Obviously these will now need to be brought back in. I also intend to change to the thinner engine mounts to reduce the shaft angle. Might as well do this all now as i have blown all the cv boots too.
