I found 2 Austin Montego in a junk yard near my place.
What can they "donate" my mini?

The engines have an ECU, so anything igntion wise is useless, and only the block out of a 1300 is of any use... apart from that, it's mainly trim bits swtiches etc which can be used in a custome mini.

But if I remeber rightly, it's just a matter of making some brackets to hold the unit in place and then all the wiring and switches... and control unit.
I was going to try it on petal, but that may have to wait til next year now.

I think the only ones chich will provide anything mechanically useful are the 1300's, even then the gearbox is not undeneath but strapped on the side like other modern cars.

Will they tell me if they're 1300 or 1600?

The carb's are all HIF-E44's if I remember right, which are electronic carbs. They need the ECU to function as the jets and chokes are controlled by stepper motors, I don't think they can be coverted to conventional cable carbs very easily.
Oh, and you'll know if it's the 1300 as it'll look like an A series (although a bit of a weird one). If you've gone as far as getting the engine number you'll know if it's the same engine. The 1600 is completely different.

Dizzy is Lucas electronic: would fit but wouldn't like to say about the advance curve
I'd say the carb is worth looking at if only as a cheap source of spares all the major moving bits are the same, you could even have a go at knicking the whole setup, it's not too complicated just an air temp sensor throttle switch and the ecu are the additional bits.
I wouldn't mind the wiper delay unit and column switches if they're reasonable.
