i wonder if someone could help me with a problem i have with my indicators.
the other day my flasher unit went all buzzy and i found that i could only get the indicators to work when indicating right, then one more buzz and nothing so i replaced the flasher unit with a new one and that one got really hot and blew
i did notice while i had the replacement working that the right indicator and all lights were fine but even tho the unit was flashing for the letf hand side no lights were going but the internal light was flashing a little bit.
the unit went up in snoke when i turned the hazards on
i dont have a clue what i need to look for i was hoping it was just the flasher unit but no luck
if anyone has any ideas i would really apppreciate it
cheers
rich.

Also check all the bulbs on the non-working side too.

http://www.hytheperformance.co.uk/
which as luck would have it is a five min walk from where i work
the problem it seems is a bit more complex than i thought i looked at the fuse box on the bulk head and it appears that a brown wire on the left side connecting to the fuse 2nd from the top has come astray and for some reason at the inline fuses to the right side of the engine compartment there is a break between the brown and purple wire
its also taken affect on my horn, stereo and my internal light

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
on sunday i am going to whip the fuse box off and clean all the connections and put the wires back on, and also replace the inline fuse which has broken
then i will have to try a new flasher which i hope wont just pop.

i spent saturday having a look. cleaned up the fuse box and replaced a couple of dodgy looking inline fuse holders and voila the indicators were working again. so i packed all my tools away sorted out the mess i left behind and shut the bonnet.
then i thought i would test one las time and was freaked out to find that the problem was back again. so i lifted the bonnet back up and tested and they were ok. after a little while freaking out i thought about it and checked ther wires at the front of the engine compartment and found that they had split where the bonnet catch locks down and every time the bonnet went down it was shorting them out.
so a quick repair later and all was fine.
cheers for you help guys
