I own a Rover 93 Jc Mini - My Winder wipers are playing up when triggered - it sounds like the motor's working - but the wiper's dont move - Could it be anything else apart from the motor? I dont want to replace it unless I have to. Any help much appreciated!

Try pulling the wiper arms completely off so your left with the splind hubs poking from the scuttle panel. Check these are turning when the wipers are activated. If not follow back from their, as the motor is'nt working if theres power to it.

Are the splines on the wiper arms ok as being plastic they could be rounded off.

This probably has all been checked but its usually the simple stuff thats broken.

my brother had a problem like this with his mini althogh only one of his stoped working so i am not sure if it will be the same problem, anyway we stripped the motor and everything down and it turned out to be that the gears in the actual wiper boxes had worn so the worm gear was moving but it did not move the wipers.
