Turning what pin, I assume you mean the raduis ar shaft... and if it's worn it should be replaced, along with the bushes... and the easiest way to di this is byr replacing the entire unit with a recon one, which are only about 30 quid so well worth their value as the bushes need to be reamed once installed..

No I dont think you mate is talking c**p, but I also dont think he understands the actual reason for why you would want to turn it.
