o.k Mini running really well now - had everything fixed at specalist - new breaks etc lovely!!! BUT I here a bad ticking type noise - fan hitting the radiator cover! I put off cleaning out the rad as some hard to reach bottom hose - but though now is a good time.
Got the rad out and noticed quite a few fins are badly danamged - it was cooling the car fine but thought now everything is out might as well replace hoses with sillicon, the fan looks a little knacke'd where its been catching and thought a new rad with drain plug might make her nice + New rad mount just is cast that was the problem.
I thought mini spares 2 core super rad http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=38044
with the 11 blade fan http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=33263
new shiny THERMOSTAT HOUSING http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=36161
a few questions below
1, Is this a good set up and does the rad come with bolts to fit guard on?
2, what is the bypass hose http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=42313 AND do i need it if I am buying sillicon hoses??
3, should I do the Fan belt while I have the rad out and what tools do I need???
4, where can I by the bit that surrounds the fan next to the rad (link would be great!)
5, any other things I should do before i fit all the new stuff
thanks all in advance

Hi there, the bypass hose they have you will not need as the silicon heater hoses are the same width and you will have spare length so cut off.
If your changing all to silicon hoses I would do the bypass, it's an achilles heel of the a-series and needs some beefing up.
If the fan belt is new then just put it back on, but if it's showing signs of wear just simply put a new one on, easy job, just a few spanners and a lever, easier now you have the rad off n e way.
Good luck
