i have an 1986 piccadilly 998cc and was considering putting my mates metro engine in not sure what year but its a 1.1 sport has anyone done this before? is it worth the hassel? and advice will ba appretiated!!

If it's a 1.1 it'll be a K series engine and will take a fair bit of work to put in your mini. Metros with A series engines in were only ever 1 and 1.3 litre (998 and 1275) and these will fit straight in. The K series engine has a bad reputation for head gasket failure but apparentley this can be sorted by relocating the thermostat. In my opinion the power increase from the 998 to the 1.1 would not be worth the hassle, but that's just my opinion.
