I want to fit a roll cage into the next Mini I get, and I'm wondering what the deal is with the back seats.

I'm planning on putting a classic Cobra full interior into the car and I'm wondering what will happen with the roll cage. Before the question is asked, I'm not really sure what type of cage I want, although I know it will only be a rear and not a full system. Similar to...

Roll cage doesn't affect the rear seats as it bolts to the wheelarches and the sills in the bottom of the bins.

Well what do you want to know about the back seats? If you get a cage with a diagonal you can't use the back seats - If you get one without a diagonal then you can still use the back seats - JUst makes sure the cage is very well padded with FIA approved racing roll cage padding to keep you and your passengers safe from damage caused by the roll cage.

Here a pics of my mini (had to take the cage out because of my insurance - another thing worth checking before you buy and fit one)

Yeh you can still use the back seats if you dont have a diagonal bar - it just bolts either side of the seat (on the arches and in the rear bins)
