I used to be a member of the mini classic forum (I think it was called) years ago, but can't find it now! So hope you don't mind me joining you guys... Motherhood and moving to the deepest countryside shifted my goalposts for a while, but I now want to get my Sprite back in shape as she is starting to look a bit sorry for herself.
Just had a bill from the local mechanic.
All as you would expect (hurrah I do love minis, the parts are so incredibly cheap), except a whopping £50.19 for a 'headlamp switch'.
My headlamps wouldn't stay 'up' when I wanted them to, I had to hold the switch in place, rather than just flicking it forward.
Can anyone explain this before I talk to the mechanic? He seems a very honest guy, so I'm sure it is correct, I just want to figure out why it was so expensive.
Thanks,
Clarey

Hi Clarey and welcome to TMF.
If I understand you correctly it sounds like your indicator stalk was faulty.
If so, then £50.19 for a replacement isn't far off the normal price. http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=33267

It was MiniClassic.co.uk died out a few years ago, now this is the place to be...

I was on there as 998Dave, and a few others have migrated over to this site, GrayedOut, MiniSlapper, etc...

Welcome, make yourself at home, and have you thought of getting a part from a scrappy or ebay?

Dave
