Hi guys, just a quick question.
Anyone know if you can get the stuff that garages use to seal the tyre to the wheel with? Think it is like a grease?
cheers Luke

I was under the impression it was more like a soap (Grease would attack the rubber), but i'll stand corrected if it isn't.

As stated above, it's basically a very thin (special) soap only used to ease the bead over and onto the rim. It's not a sealant. The bead seals against the rim without additional material.

Theres the tyre soap which is used to aid the fitting and helps the tyre seat it self onto the rim while being inflated.
And theres a black liquid rubber (Not partially nice to use as it can be a bit messy), which is used to seal leaks between the bead of the tyre and the rim.

Just a thought here but to make any of the sealans work the tyre needs to be demounted from the wheel as it mostly seals on the flat section of the wheel, not the edge where the weights can be mounted, although the above advice seems to be about right (the liquid rubber isn't that good to be fair, the rimseal stuff top right in the tyrebaydirect link is far better and longer lasting
)
