Hey all,

Minispares seem to send me a reply in pigeon english so i didnt get a real answer but basically i bought a K&N cone filter from SMD's a lil' while back and it was not supplied with a carb needle, hence the mixture is very lean and my acceleration is poor (unless the pull the choke out...vrooom)

My Mini is not a proper stage 1 car, just has an air filter, attatched to a HIF 38 carb, can anyone tell me or recommend me an appropariate carb needle. Hopefully once fitted I can get her on a rolling road and tuned. And on that subject...does anyone know of any good rolling roads in Kent? (Im based in Ashford)

ML Motorsport for your rolling road.

Not sure about the K&N, HIF38, 1275 collection for carb needles, it's an unusual setup. Have you got seperate inlet/exhaust manifolds? and RC40 type exhaust?

If so I'd suggest an HIF44 with the relevant needle.

If not I'm afraid I have no idea, try downloading WinSU.

I second the HIF 44 suggestion. It will be needed if you want to make any more mod's to your motor anyway.

I cant really help with the HIF 38 either but if you get a 44 post up and we will try and help. Not that I want to put WINSU down but personally I have found the mini spares website more helpful.

Its either a rolling road, or re-fit your original air filter untill you can get the work done, just be careful as running the engine too lean could cause engine damage.
