hello as we dont have a drive or a detached house i have been considering for some time putting a garage door were our back gate is and to park the mini in the yard. If you dont get what i mean we basically have a concrete rectangle well big enough to put a mini and a wooden door. I want to replace the wooden door with a garage door. I was wondering if any one has done this before or could recommend some one who could do it ?
Or even if its possible to DIY it. Obviously a steel beam will be needed.
I hope some one can help me out.

Most of the big DIY stores sell garage doors complete with frames.
You simply get it straight and true then bolt it to the wall,no need for a steel beam if there is nothing overhead the door itself.
If you need a steel beam or RSJ then most reclamation yards will have something suitable or use a steel lintel again from a builders merchant.

If there will only be three or four courses of brick over the top of the garage door then the best thing to do is knock the whole wall down, insert Garage door, then using something like a 4" angle iron place that on the garage door casing and build over that.
Job done.
