1979 Van resto.
Right..... I'm half way through the whole Underseal - Zeibart stripping thing in the engine bay. What a laugh!!
I have got 95% of the stuff off so far, just up tight in the corners and up under the scuttle are a bit patchy.
Question is... Will Stone guard paint go over the the odd bit of underseal. It is very sparse and very thin. I have to bear in mind that I am never going to put the van in a show & shine, its just for me to enjoy driving for a while. because the engine bay will not be mirror finish i thought stone guard would take your eye of any irregularities.
I am planning on rust treatment, stone guard followed by colour.
What do you people think.

Over the white area would be fine, just make sure you rub it down first or it'll flake off.

Ive found if your unlucky the stonechip can react with any old sticky type of underseal and all crack open.

It's only the odd litle bit of Cr*p that I cant get to. As I said it is very thin and rock hard. I think its all Zeibart spray.

Apply some very thing coats to begin with, leaving it to cure 10-15 minutes between.

Once its all covered and pretty cured, you should be able to go for a 'finish' coat which can then be painted!
