Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me?

Basically made the decision to get the front end bracket kit from minimania which allows me to flip the whole front end up into the air, so today i ordered the kit and at the end of the order it says i have to fill in a form, a credit card authorization form and it basically asks for all my details of my card and also to send a copy of the front and back of my card and some form of identification (drivers license, passport etc.). Are they allowed to do this, because anyone can use it. So i sent them an email saying i didnt feel comfortable sending them all that information and they replied saying that my order cannot be processed until i do, but on my bank account it shows that the money is making its transaction. Also it says credit card but i used a visa debit, does that still count.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

Aye I know, sounds pretty shifty that does... why on earth do they need other forms of ID?! These days you need to enter the security code off the back of the card (CVC?) anyway to prove its genuine...

send them the money by international bacs transfer instead - never give that degree of info away under any circumstances.

They should only need the long number on the front, the expiry date and the CV2 (the last 3 digits on the back) and maybe the card holders name..

But they shouldn't need other ID?.. Sounds a bit weird..

But yeah do as Roofless said and do a bank transfer instead

Cancel the transaction and buy the bits locally. Everything MM buys comes from the UK to start with. Seems like you could find those from his supplier there in the UK and shipping would be much cheaper.

It is just because you are trying to buy something with an international card. Also it is standard in America to ask for I.D. when buying something with a credit card.

The man is right.

Try ordering from summitracing and they will ask you for the same things

Never had any problems with minimania, and when issues have come up they have done their best to make them up to me.

Ive bought from them without any need for further id or copies of the front and back.

They just needed the number and verification number/security on the back.

Thats it.
