Looks good so far!

With the castle nut, you have to tighten it to the torque, then tighten it further untill the holes line up!

James

not trying to be rude,I KNOW THIS! lol the nut goes waaaayy past the hole and the split pin would'nt be doing anything, and yes there is a thrust washer behind the nut  ,all i can see to remedy this is to add another washer.

twas the same castle nut which came off the re-con radius arm, only one hole for split pin and bearings assembled by the book so im a bit confused to be honest!,second washer under the castle nut my only option though i dont like the idea

well i swapped my mini's round today, van is now tucked up in its mobile tent  i'll get a pic tomorrow ,and FRK is now all cosy in the garage.i've inspected his bodywork and there is little to do really but have decided to sort the following just to be certain rust is minimal

-blank off fresh air vents/lhd wiper holes
-small patch to centre of scuttle below windscreen
-replace passenger a panel
-small patch to lower flitch panel (size of a 10p)
-replace outer cills
-patch passenger door step
-tubb rear arches
-drivers side rear window needs rust treated
-drivers side bootfloor corner repair
-new valence closing panel for above
-dent in hinge panel passenger side
-new rear valence
-doors need patches for wing mirror mounting holes

other than that im contemplating removing the rear bins and seat base ready for a cage to go in and a carbon roof is on my wish list maybe a xmas pressie for myself will have to see :errr:

need to sort a bigger gas bottle and a decent mask for the welder and im ready to go,a compressor will be on the list too as prefer air tools to grinders boosting up my leccy bill :D
