I have just performed the free RAC frre car history check, and to my amazement it said my car was just a Cooper not a Cooper Sport. The car was sold to me 2 years ago as a cooper sport, but i dont know whether to believe the RAC check. How can you tell the difference between a Cooper Sport and a fancy Cooper with a load of nice shiney badges?

the sports pack coopers have 13 inch wheels and bigger arches

Are there any other ways you can tell? Because my insurance says it is a Cooper Sport but all the other car documents say it is just a cooper, is this normal or should they say Cooper Sport?

What does it say on your registration document, if this says Cooper then its a Cooper (as long as the chassis numbers match, etc).

IT says that the car is a cooper!! However i have the 13" cooper sport alloys, the full leather trim, walnut dash, extra lights on the front and the sportspack arches. I am very confused!!!

Unfortunately I don't know enough about the various models to help you out more, where's Dan when you need him?!

The difference between a cooper sportspack and a cooper sport is that the Cooper Sport was the run out model Mini available from 2000, it was the same spec as the Cooper Sport 500 with the silver roof and the black and silver interior.

My car is a w reg (2000) model it has a black roof and red and cream leather interior. Still very unclear to which it is!!! Thanks for all of your help fellow mini owners hopefully i will get to the bottom of this soon.

If it has a cream leather interior then it isn't a cooper sport.

Does it have a walnut dashboard?

It has a walnut dash, the leather is black with the embossed cooper logo and has cream piping.

Yeah it all sounds standard fit, a friend from my local Mini club has a tahiti blue cooper sportspack I'll ask him exactly what his v5 states the car model as.

Is the cooper sportspack the same as the cooper sport?
Is there any difference with engines etc?

There's no difference with the engine both have the 1275 mpi engine and suspension set up etc.

The only differences is cosmetic, the cooper sportspack usually has a white roof unless someone spec'd their own in a showroom. The dashboard in the cooper is usually the walnut dash where as the sport has the aluminium and the alloy handles/gear knob as a factory fit.

Im still very confused!!!!!!! I dont have a white roof i have a black roof, i also have the walnut dash and the alloy interior handles!!! The gear knob is alloy but i dont think it is factory fit as it is a MOMO chrome one.

Do your door handles have the green Mini logo on them?
