Hi all

Im a new member with a new project.

After finishing my first mini project ( orange turbo, MiniWorld cover car Dec 08 ) moving into my first house and building a garage im finally ready to start my mini van project.
I bought the van to use up all the parts left over from my first project but hey plans change :gimme: . So after deciding for around 18 months on what to do with it i booked in to see Chris at zcars in May for a tour and a demo ride and ordered a Type R kit before i left.

The projects only been on the go for 5-6 weeks which has been spent gettin rid of all the rot and welding in new pannels.

A few pics of where im upto

first 6 photos are about 2 yrs old

my carbon fibre doors arrived yesterday, carbon fibre front and reverse hinges are due the end of this week. So enough to be going on with until my kit arrives from zcars in 3 weeks or so.

Welcome to the exclusive club :D

As far as we know on this forum, you'd be the first V-tec Van and posibly the first Z cars Van.

There has been;

Z Cars R1 Pickup (pete)
Z Cars V-tec Estate
Z Cars R1 Estate (ours)

Looking forward to the developments

Les.

Another TMF'er from Manchester! And with a Z-Car!!! Nice idea with the van. Reverse flip is a brilliant idea, doing that on my project in fact.

The rear wheel mock-up looks tasty. If you need a helping hand at any point drop me a PM :D

Look forward to the updates.

Thanks for the offer mate ill keep it in mind when im struggling. I pondered over what to do with the van for 18 months, i think ive made the right choice tho.

Waitin on parts at the moment, my kit went to the powdercoaters last week so hopefully i will be able to go and pick it up soon and get stuck in. Still waitin for the reverse hinges for the flipfront too.

Uprights are painted with new bearings and ball joints, new steering rack and rack ends all ready and waiting to go on.

The excitements building

we did do a van bike engine version for a guy who had a garage called Chicks motors or something like that
dont think he ever got it built as we sent another kit there last yr and the guy had looked at buying the project
vans are very rare and will be a nice thing when done
