Re-connected positive lead from battery ready for first proper run of new engine this week, bent up pipe from fuel pump to carbs - I re-purposed the old one from the 998 but at some point I'll re-make it with new pipe now I've got a template. Checked fuel and water pipe clamps and fitted thermostat cover. Sprayed brake servo. Sprayed second head steady bracket but every time I rub it back the next coat reacts with the previous one so I'll leave it off for now and have it powdercoated.

Went for a drive. Throttle stuck on at about 4000rpm.? Something to potter on with during the week.

Cut and fitted N/S Polycarb windows, fitting O/S windows today. Hopefully cutting the rear window today too.

Filled and welded up the aerial hole in the wing (the aerial on mine is in the roof)

Might have a tidy inside for peace of mind.

Finally found a set of 5 nice aluminium wheels to replace my standard 3,5" steelies.

They are the 4-spoke wheels from the Leyland Trophy in France back in the mid to end of the 70's.

 

I think they will help cooling down the Cooper S front brake!

Can't wait to have them home!!

Started to modify the top dash pad to accept triple guage and tweeters.

New c/v gator kit fitted, front inner wheel arch and rear inner wheel arch welded/sealed. ✅ 
New Yokohama A539 tyre fitted and balanced. ✅
MOT passed. ✅ 
All ready for Himely Hall Mini show this weekend and L2B next weekend. ✅

Removed front windscreen.

Removed scuttle panel.

Removed both front wings and front panel, ready for when I can buy and fit a flip front. Scuttle was only supposed to be a repair but is too far gone and needs replacing.

Finally took my little girl to school in it :)   She giggled all the way!

Torqued up maltese crosses
Checked front suspension torque.
Found a carb rubber grommet sat on the gearbox linkage, replaced it under the twin carb airbox!
Checked front headlight connectors.
Set plug gaps.
Played around with CSI dizzy curves.
Fitted rivnuts to grille mounting points, titanium bolts to replace self tappers.
Talked myself into buying KAD rear subbie geometry plates.

MOT no advisories!!! YAYYYYYY!!!!!

Replaced NS doorstep, decided to buy a half floor because it got too many patches now. Payday Thursday so we'll see what the bank sez I can buy this month..
