ALL, PLEASE DO NOT USE PHOTOBUCKET TO LOAD YOUR PICTURES ON TO THE FORUM, USE A PLATFORM LIKE IMGUR. I HAVE ADDED INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE 5 ON HOW TO DO THIS.

Modified by Admin sonikk4

With many people asking how to put images onto the posts on TMF I thought I'd do this guide for users who wish to put images up and are unsure.

I use either Photobucket or ImageShack.

On Photobucket:

Once on your Photobucket, hover your mouse over the image you want and then the links will automatically pop under the image like in the screen print below.
image1duo.png

Click on the little box on the right of IMG code. That is your image code. That will automatically copy the code you want once mouse clicked once. Then simply when on TMF where you want to put the image like on a reply to a post or to show pictures of your project just paste the IMG code into the box you would normally type in like as if you are replying to a post

(You can paste it by either right clicking and then 'paste' or 'CTRL and V' on Windows computers. Or on a Mac like me I hold CTRL key and then click mouse, then paste or you can do Apple key and V)

On ImageShack:

image2xzf.png

On ImageShack click on 'Browse', you can then choose your picture you want from your computer. Select the Image and then click 'Upload button' screen print above shows what the screen will look like. Once it is uploaded it will show like below screen print...
image3by.png

The code you want to copy is the Forum Code. To copy the code you can click on the code once which will then highlight the code to show it is all selected then to actually copy the code you can press CTRL and C on windows or on Mac press Apple key and C or how ever you normally copy things on your computer.

Then like above just do the same to paste the code.
(either right clicking and then 'paste' or 'CTRL and V' on Windows computers. Or on a Mac like me I hold CTRL key and then click mouse, then paste or you can do Apple key and V)

Remember to copy and paste on windows you can always right click mouse.

Hope this helps some of you smile.png

Maybe this can be pinned?

Hi Jamie,

Really helpful post about posting pictures so thanks for that.

I am however having trouble changing my profile picture. I keep going to upload the photo and then after a few minutes of watching the arrow going round and round for the loading I get a red box saying failed to set the picture. I have tried several different pictures and tried to upload one through a URL, but I get the same message =(

Best wishes,

Chris

Hi, have you tried resizing the image you want to use so it's smaller. It should let you set it then.

Thanks

You can go into your upload settings on Photobucket and it gives you a "Mobile Email/MMS upload address"

There is very limited space allocated to your account for directly uploaded files.  Posting links to images held elsewhere will allow you to use far more pictures at once.

Here's a guide a mate of mine posted on a forum,I assume it works, only use Photobucket myself.

"Here is a simple method to get your photos on the forum using Flickr

1. Log onto Flickr and up load your pictures

2. Once uploaded go to your photostream

3. Click on photostream and click on the photo you want to add to the forum

4. Click on the photo again and notice on the top left of the screen view all sizes

5.Click on view all sizes and then select medium I use medium 500

6.Right hand click on the picture and click on copy image location

7. Go to Forum posting where you want your picture and type

8. then paste your image location and finish off with

9. It should appear in your post .Use preview to see if it has worked if it has not it is often because you have not used the / in the final [img] box"

Whats this about the new uploader when you post a message? Can't seem to get it to work, but then I'm on an IMac so no surprise perhaps??
