Just wanted to vent how annoyed I am with sellers on this forum. As a trader I give and expect the same level of respect to anyone.

Twice this week I have but overlooked for items I have said I will buy, and sellers have ignored messages asking to confirm details for payment and collection. Then they finally get the balls to reply and say "oops sorry, someone else asked so sold it to them"

The last one the guy suggested a deal on a Megajolt loom, and then ignored me since before the weekend. Today after a curt message askimng why i hadn't heard from him even though he'd been online everyday he replied and said "oops the guy that asked before you but went quiet has now paid" (more i might add as saw his offer on the thread).

I have only just re-subscribed as TMF+ but have very quickly been reminded why i moved away from this forum.

If you make a deal people don't shaft long standing members for a few extra quid.

I know admin cant do anything about this but seems some members have no morals or respect when selling things.

Rant over

It's purely a moral thing though. You're not obliged to sell to any member aside from what any rulebook on a forum or PM you might send... the morals of the majority in the Mini scene leave very little to be desired lately... but when you have a good transaction and make a new friend from it it makes up for the crap ones.

Just the crappy attitude that does me in - as a trader i guess i have a different opinion and sell to those that enquire first - or at least conclude the enquiry before entertaining a different buyer.

As a selling trader surely you know what it feels like to save something for somebody who expresses interest only to be let down by then, by that point you've already told 3 people who have probably sourced it elsewhere that the item is prov sold.

I sell to the first person to produce the money... if its in my paypal they get the item. I express it in my listings and nobody gets annoyed because the rules are clear.

well i said id have it and the guy entered into discussion re price and an exchange for megajolt stuff - so it seems he was playing more than opne person for the best price.
if i have more than one enquiry then the first gets priority and i inform the others that someone else is in front of them.

the first to pay buys it idea works best if stated in the sale and if the seller keeps the post updated as many do. has put me off buying anything on here as its not the community i first signed up to.

I have had worse. I mentioned in a thread that I had access to carbon material at work. A guy on here got in touch and asked if he could buy some. I said I was happy to get him it at the same price we pay (about 40% what it would cost the general public). He has been hot and cold ever since. Really messing me about and I am not even making a penny! I have decided he isn't getting any now, even if he comes with cash. i can't be bothered with time wasters.

That said I have bought a load of stuff off here and its been brilliant. The number of top people I have dealt with shows that most people on here are still decent reliable types - at least thats my experience.

Don't let a couple of idiots spoil the whole thing for you.

If you are getting turned over by other members then why not report them to TMF Staff rather than tar everybody with the same brush?

Because there is nothing TMF can do to prevent members trying to play others off against each other when sales deals are done via pm. Unless you have suggestions sonikk

First one who slaps the money in my hand gets it, no dibs, no waiting for someone to make there mind up, the amount of people who say there interested, enter into protracted haggling for a better price and then don't contact me ever again.

I'm not interested that a person was the first to contact me regarding a part, don't care, doesn't give you any brownie points in my book, just hand over the folding stuff if your really interested

If one member was doing this all of the time then we would have a case against that particular member. If we don't know what's happening then we cannot help as we would have no history to back up any claim.

We do get reports about members on here when it comes to things like this and obviously if somebody is being ripped off or fobbed off then we can intervene.

Sometimes we can help but unless somebody asks for help we cannot do anything.
