I've only ever bought one thing of a member on here, and that went well. I've never sold anything, but if I did, it would be to the first person to contact me who gets the item. If they waste my time, then I move onto the next person or open it up again. Most people would be glad to be rid of stuff they don't need, if you're selling to the highest bidder, stick it on ebay.

I am not a Trader, but if I sell something (usually on Ebay as I don't have that many Mini parts to sell at the mo) I always give them the best possible service I can. I don't rip people off on postage and genuinely believe that a well-packed item will make the buyer more appreciative of the effort given to make sure their item is worth what they paid for it.

I am also of the belief that it should be the first who crosses your palm with the correct amount of silver gets the item; I think the main issue is those that don't put a price up (or do, but it's unreasonable) - then you get the haggling via PMs which is usually where the problems start. Start with a price and stick to it. If it doesn't sell, then reduce it.

It took me a while to suss the TMF Buying and Selling unwritten rules. I was typically polite and British about it and thought the first one to repond to the POST got dibs and so on down the line

I daftly thought weheyyyy I'm first in the queue Ive got it :proud: ......the Personal Message system never entered my head  and I was obviously beaten to it by a PM'er :mmkay:

If I agreed a sale even if later offered more money I would honour it....but if I was a trader or a regular seller then I dont suppose you can wait for No.1 poster to get their act together when Joe EagerBeeverPayPal is there ready to pay and offering more money ...

I don't know how, but paddy summed it up perfectly :mmkay:

But I feel that a mans word is his honour, and if you agree a price then the item is sold. I feel this to be right whatever is being brought/sold, be it, car, part or even a cat. If I say I'll have something I'll have it.

I have bought many items on TMF and never had any problems, but two items I have paid for via paypal have not turned up and the sellers are not replying to PM's.

Very frustrating; not sure how to escalate?

I would try Paypal first to see what they can do, you can also pm me the sellers details if they are forum members and we may be able to assist. They maybe on holiday etc. How long have you been waiting for the items??
