It sounds like the starter motor is still in place which is stopping the engine starting but i have checked and this is not the case.
Been throughg the whole engine check everything but still no joy, been in the haynes manule front to back but that hasnt helped!!! any ideas guys would be great many thanks

Are the ht leads in the correct order, which should be 1-3-4-2 i believe, anticlockwise around the dizzy.
Yep these are in the right order lol checked it about 3 times

Have you tried pouring a small amount of fuel in the intake to rule out fuel problems?

did you rebuild the engine aswell ?
No just took it out cleaned it up and put it back in, It ran before (if a little rough) we took it out

check the engine earth strap, a lot of people get to this after checking everything else, if it's a bad connection it causes all sorts of faults.
I replaced it with a new one plus also ran a second one in just to be on the safe side, also redid and check all of the earthing points

New earth straps
New starter solenoid
New coil
New spark plugs ( correct gap)
New leads
New battery cable from the battery to the starter solnoid
All new connections
New fuse box plus fuses
All earthing points cleaned and checked
