I have the week off from work at college, may have a go....

But If I do mine will be painted NPR so it is colour coded with the car ;)

Got a welder for xmas
So ill try and source some tubeing and try it out when my wleding improves
But ill defo be makeinf one with wooden blanks goings across like the american lad on here with a sliver mini his roof rack is porn ;)

I am willing to take pics of my rack if some skilled person wants to replicate it. It seems a really simple design.

Mini is aluminium but could easily be steel. It is made in two halfs which slide together. Basically it is one outer ring (square) with metal ribs running parallel. should be dead easy to do, if you can fabricate and weld.....

It clamps to the roof using adjustable clamps, I have locked mine in place with a nut and bolt.

I bought it bare and added the wooden slats.

To te lad that made the first rack from copper pipe is it 15mm ,1/2 inch or 20mm, 3/4" ? Just wondering for size of steel to look for

I wouldn't make it from copper to be honest, copper isn't massively strong in thin pipe form....
