If you're referring to the power steering thread earlier this morning, then the thread was cleaned up and a number of unhelpful and confrontational posts including yours were removed. Such behaviour destroys the friendly atmosphere here and is very off putting to other members. I made a general announcement on the thread encouraging everyone to calm down and behave appropriately, and I don't have the time nor do I feel it necessary to address everyone's behaviour individually.

We don't want to over moderate the forum and hand out bans and formal warnings routinely. So if your posts get removed, it's because we deem them to be inappropitiate, and if your posts are being removed on a regular basis, then perhaps it's time you put some more thought into what you type before pressing the "post" button.

As above, a general announcement was made on the thread to ALL concerned, and we have better things to do than permenantly sending individual PM's to the same individuals who really shouldn't need to be told how to behave here. What's more, we're not actually here to parent you and tell you what you should and shouldn't be saying. Yes you have a "voice", but if that "voice" is going to consist of unhelpful and confrontational remarks then they are going to be removed.

It would also be useful if people remember that the mods aren't paid by TMF, we aren't employees we are volunteers who spend an awful lot of time keeping things running smoothly, most of which is behind the scenes and never seen. No TMF team = no TMF.

There are Mods and Mods.

What the Paid up or original members want is consistancy.

I too have had comments removed without contact or marking up the original post which can lead to confussion or contempt.

If this is the new regine of the TMF to remove comments?

Rather than just deleting the comments that the members have added on their forum could mods please add a comment like "Inappropriate comments removed" or simular as a minimum of common decency or issue a warning if rules have been broken?

When a thread has gone way off topic and there are lots of pointless posts, then a general comment in the thread is enough to let people know that their posts have been removed.

We don't go sending messages to every individual for every bit of tidying up. Don't take it so personally.

Who is 'paid up'?

Nobody on TMF pays for membership.

Why do people think forums are a bastion on free speech? Its not. Someone has to pay for it, someone has to look after it, and they're probably doing it at cost to themselves. If they want to enforce rules they don't have to tell anyone or explain themselves, its their platform, they're just letting you use it.
