Evening all, I've a few more pictures from this week nothing too exciting really as I've been getting the wet flatting out of the way, It took me a while but I`m happy with the end result.
I gave the van a decent guide coat before making a start.

So that's it guys, after many hours my van is completely ready for paint other than a good wipe down just beforehand. The next lot of pictures I post should show the van in full colour as the paint will be going on early next week, Tuesday maybe Wednesday

Latest update !!
We`ll I've had quite a busy few days preparing the van for paint and by the looks of the pictures I received tonight from Wayne its all been worth it as he stayed over tonight to paint it and I shall be going to sleep tonight knowing I have a nice shiny van to wake up too
Here's what I have been up to this week,
Once I had cleaned the van down after the wet flatting I started to mask out the loadbed area for the Upol Raptor to be applied, I decided to run a border around the outer edge just to break it up a bit and I found that 1" tape did this job nicely.

The loadbed then received another good panel wiping down before the Rapter was applied, I opted for the tint able option as I wanted to keep it all one colour so it was given the recommended maximum of 3 coats (pretty light) and I was very happy with the results.

The loadbed was allowed to dry fully before I started to mask out and wipe down for its final paint job and so today I set about doing just that,

And that was how I left it earlier this evening as I say leaving Wayne to shoot the colour down but look at what I have to wake up to tomorrow morning, I cannie bloody wait, It looks fantastic

Lee this looks incredible. The color is fantastic, looks completely straight and has a lovely finish on it. A testiment to your hard work on it, especially the prep. I'm very jealous.
Can't wait to see it built up!
Thankyou very much for your kind words mate they are very much appreciated
I've put some time into it making sure I have done all that I can to help preserve it for hopefully another 50yrs, I've tried to use the best materials to do this and only time will tell if it stands the test of time I suppose lol,
I'm happy with how it looks and I defiantly think I made the right choice by changing from its previous shade of green to this one,
I must also admit the sense of achievement is great

A few more pictures that I took today after removing the masking tape and paper,
I must admit I am very happy with how the loadbed turned out, I wasn't too sure about using the Raptor at first but I reckon it looks quite good + it will serve its purpose well I think,

Green on Green doesn't look to bad either although the engine looks a little dull in this picture as its a little dusty.

I have a nice new Tan interior for the cab area, That should set it right off I think

Monday next week Wayne will be giving it a nib and polish, This should give the van a much deeper shine I can then start bolting some bits too it
