Good evening all and thankyou for your kind words lads they are very much appreciated
This week started off with me flatting down the paint so as Wayne could start to give it a good polish, For this I used 3 different grades of Trizact pads, The first grade I used was 1500 then 3000 and finally I finished off with a 6000 Trizact pad making lighter work for Wayne when he polishes it. This is the only picture I have sorry of an area of the roof after it had a quick polish.

My D1`s are looking sweet too, I shall have to put my Cooper rims on the van for now thou just until I can afford some decent rubber for these.

I noticed this stamp on the inside of a wheel, Does it mean anything, It would be rather nice if it was the date of manufacture as the van was built the same year 68 !!

Today I've been busy getting the doors and also a load of little bits and pieces for the van into primer, I can start to flat them down tomorrow so next week we should see those in paint too. I want to try and get the doors painted tomorrow at least as I would like to leave them hanging up over the weekend. The shell should be polished tomorrow so I`ll be sure to take plenty of pic`s. I do really need to use my digital camera as my pictures are not the clearest taken with my phone..

My last job when I left the van on Friday was to sit it on its front wheels for the first time and takeaway the supporting dolly from underneath,
It didn't quite work out as I wanted it too as we quickly realised the n/s/f was sitting way higher than the rest of the car, So after a little investigating it was the Minisport Smootha ride rubber cone that was at cause as some of its rubber around the bottom had come away from the central metal part of the cone causing it to bulge away in turn this was pushing the cone away from the Adjusta ride hi,lo, I had too undo my top arm again to get them out which I was peed off about.
The Minisport front cones are slightly taller than the standard rubber cones and so I can only imagine the extra strain while compressing it with the cone tool so as I could then get the hi,lo in and then fit the top arm had caused the rubber to come away, I can recall it was quite a struggle to do at the time, Not great as they were an Ebay purchase that must of been a good 18mths ago now,
I have a new pair of standard rubber cones that I purchased from Minispares for my pickup so I think I will change both sides for the Minispares set up instead !!
On a good note I received a few pictures from Wayne this weekend, He has painted my doors and some bits of trim for me

Finally the dolly has gone and its sitting on some wheels
I swopped both of the front Minisport rubber doughnuts for a pair of standard ones today and the difference in height from Minisports to the standard ones is quite a lot,
Its sitting much better now, Much lower than it was before. It has new suspension all around so it still needs to settle yet but I can still adjust it if need be from the Hi-Lo`s
The Minisport doughnuts have gone in the bin, Not something I would recommend at all !!

The Mambas are on the van just so as I can move it around the workshop, I've just purchased some Dunlop sp tyres to go with my Dunlop D1`s so they should look the part when they go on
I also started flatting my doors today too as i want to get them on the van and out of the way this week just in case they get damaged knocking about the workshop. I shall post some more pictures up when they go on..
