more updates! 

had some free time this weekend, finished all my assignments and tieded up my garage! put some old curtains on one side and covered the top and the other side with thin sheets of plastic..." trying to eliminate some dust and overspray" take a look. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

also painted my roof! first coat on, then remove all the imperfections and spray again for the final coat!

I think thats a lovely MG Metro you've got your hands on there  , any chance of maor piccy's/ project thread on it ?

 

How is the spray job on the roof ? i'l be doing mine in the garage myself so wouldn't mind a few pointers on painting

hi rally515, yeah it was mine! just for an hour. i had to sell it (( i've been after that mg for over 3 years! but when i got it i had to sell it unfortunatly. the clubman is sucking too much money out of me

so matthew_leech, yeah its sandglow :) the first coat came out really really nice. it's a shame that i have to sand it again to re paint it.


now what advice/help do you need? or procedures ?

Don't want to hijack your build thread with paint questions. But yes. What paint are you using, how you spraying it ect.

I have a dinted bonnet I want to repair and respray for my clubman estate you see.

no problems.... can you post a photo of your dented bonnet? so as to give you the propper way on how I do it?

I use make -Max Meyer 2k paint or ICI 2k paint...

Ahhh shame about the Metro , guess the Britich Leyland god's saw you were being abit lucky and decided to punish you!

 

Theres always next time once you've finished the clubby, metro and mini sat beside each other, perfect

UPDATE!!! 

removed all of the undercoat that i put before and gave the only dent some filler ... (after panel beating it out obv)

both rear doors were rust free but still put some  rust convertor and metal protector on the seams of the door  and inside. on the lower back they needed some filler as they had some small dents here and there....  see pictures!!!

unfortunately i do not have any photos before filler and after filler (before being painted  

then i gave the undercoat some colour to see if there are any imperfections in the filler...

 

 

 

 

that's the update....now maybe a week off as i have an important school project presentation! 

but maybe next time i work on it i will try to finish both the passenger side and drivers side door and front wings... both will filler and undercoat!

the imm has been cancelled for me ... going to have an exam on the 29th of july.... :@ 

 

hope for next year then....

anyways i've got some good updates. pictures will follow later on today...

changed passenger side a panel, fixed mudguard as it had some rust on the bottom near the a panel, repaired the a post and got everything lined up. painted both the rear doors and bonnet in sandglow :)

then i bought this ...saved it from the scrap yard....not much use...maybe front panel and inner wings as well as the back metal work (where the rear seat is located....)
