Hi all :))

Finally i got my first clubman estate a couple of months ago! i got it in February (a couple of days before the valentines day) (8/2/14). it's in very good condition  only has a couple of rusty spots...the usual places for an estate - the rear window sills., only a small patch is need in the passenger side floorboard and some small hole in the driver side. it needs 1 A panel and a full spray job (bare metal) ...

i'm trying to finish it for the imm next july/august. hopefully i would drive it back from uk to malta.

the original colour is Poo Brown (i don't know the exact colour code but from the colour history it shows it was brown originally) after that it was painted in undercoat, yellow and then maroon red ( i think yellow was used as an undercoat for the maroon red to stand out more.  i started removing the paint using paint remove, washing it and then finally undercoat. the engine started first time round only had to change the coil but other than that :). it has the original 1100 engine but i decided to buy a 1275 low mileage (24k miles) out of a metro ....got the vented hubs out of the metro aswell :) . still need to buy mini hubs to do a propper conversion.

Bought new brake lines, converision from 4 pot to single line (braided :D:DD) new clutch master, clutch slave cylinder, new steering rack, new ball joints, new bla bla bla bla bla bla almost everything is new....

One Suggestion : Shall i keep the orignal engine or put the low mileage 1275 ? would it effect the price if i would sell it ?

enjoy the photos:))

minimissions: hopefully!! still undecided on what colour to go for. the orignal was russett brown. i'm thinking either audi white or sandglow. for now definitly a 1275 engine which i bought recently.

Regarding value- is it better to keep the orignal 1098 engine or leave the 1275? if i will sell it in the future?

original cars tend to sell for more so I would say 1098

thanks rocket. will need to check the condition of the engine exactly as it bruns tiny ammounts of oil. will not risk going overland with that engine but will defo recon' it and put it instead of the 1275 when i get back.

should i re spray the orignal colour aswell ? and keep the orignal interior aswell ? I 'm doing a diskbrake conversion....(the conversion should add value i think not decrease it----- correct me if I'm wrong please)

Its all personal preference to be honest, I wouldn't worry to much about re-sale value unless your doing it to sell on, In my opinion the car wont loose any value as long as you keep it period and not to modified, Disk brakes will add vale I would f thought

No at the moment i will not sell it as my father really wants to use it for himself! i'm not going to do silly mods like cutting up the bonnet or putting a big spoiler on the rear of the van....i'll try to do small modifications that will make the estate look better :)

thanks rocket!
