I managed to find an Owner's Manual to go with this car. Probably not strictly correct, but cool to have. I've also had a change of plan with regards to the plastic door step trim; I'll use aluminium items until I can find some plastic items (if I find).

Since there was such a short run of production for the GT in SA, would it be possible to find out what manual was used in the cars sold here? Perhaps in Trinesh's GT?

I'm not sure. Don't think his has one either.

Hectic, then this book is even rarer than I thought. Maybe the only one in SA.

This site shows a Wolseley 1000 with a BMC Publication Drivers Handbook http://wolseleyhorne.../reference.html

Did Leykor produce an owners manual for their cars?

they did plenty of adverts....

You could always sell the GT & get an 1275E

they have a lovely colour brochure :-)   http://www.minipassionmini.50megs.com/pdf/Mini%201275E%201980%20SA.pdf

I'm not sure about Leykor providing specific manuals for the cars. I think the 1000cc cars used the generic Leyland Mini item, and the 1100/1275 got their one. I could be wrong though, so I speak under correction.

That 1275E brochure is cool - haven't seen that before  :proud:

So, nothing much has happened with this car for quite a while now. There are plans to take it in for the paintwork to be done shortly. Hopefully, in that time, I can get around to redoing the suspension and brakes etc. I've also recently managed to acquire a mould to make the SA-only spec Cooper S bucket seats - hopefully I can get them covered in something similar to the current red seats.

Also, I made an 'in the moment' purchase and got a pair of Dellorto FZD carbs. The twin HS2 setup was sold a little while ago as I had other plans, but these came up at a good price and I had to jump at it :

Did you get the carbs from Shawn? Nice find and something different to the single HS4/twin HS2 setup.

I see Andrew is now mass producing the bucket seats. I'm happy about this as we'll have access to more classic bucket seats for our Minis that are cheaper than the Cobra Classic seats. I wonder how it will affect the value of original S bucket seats. I suppose it will allow for one to make an S replica with more ease.

I got these from Ben. Want to get them rebuilt and cleaned up - should come out quite nicely.

The more, the merrier. Opens the market up and makes things more accessible for people who can't afford "luxury" items.

So true. Especially since Andrew's products are a fraction of the price of the Cobra seats from ATS. I don't think most Mini owners could fork out 10k per seat. At least this way, we have two options. Terrence's seats and Andrew's seats. Any pics of the products from Andrew? I don't think I've seen one before.

What will the carbs be needing before they can be fitted and used?

Want to get a rebuild kit at some stage. Then I need to build the engine.

Is it possible to get rebuild kits for these carbs? Would you be able to find them locally, since they're still some old Italian marques on the roads that may have used them?

Can buy almost everything for them online still. There's a website dedicated to these and other carbs : https://www.dellorto.co.uk/

If I come across another set for sale, I'll let you know if you'd like?
