Front End Friday..carrying on with the grille mock up..managed to get some more shape into it so it fits the grille opening..next step is to make a surround to frame it so it ressembles a normal grille..also made a new bonnet stay bracket as the original one i removed from the old innerwing was looking tired..

So made more progress rebuilt the doors and fitted new skins..surprised to say the skins fit well as they are not genuine ..they will need work to improve fit but as a starter I'm happy..so lots of finessing to do but the list is getting shorter..also behind the scenes I've started refurbing the mechanicals and parts in general ...

Hmm that other project looks very interesting as well...
Minimissions especially for you the project in the background is not mine..it belongs to my friend..its a 1952 chevy truck currently being mocked up to run the complete engine and running gear from a 4.2 V8 Audi quattro..should go well !!

Those doors look a great fit like you say pattern skins can be a risk I had to ditch some pattern skins on my 95 sidewalk as the profile was awful but those look great.
Nice I thought that other car was a Chevy sounds like an interesting project.

Small update but very much plugging away at it managing about 3 hours every night after work ..mostly stripping paint and going over loose ends..im trying to reduce the amount of work for the painter as the more i do the less i pay him...so pictures are much the same possibly off to paint in 3 weeks...

Thanks..thats the plan as best as i can within reason so i can still use and enjoy it...yep same here stripping paint sole destroying really but its a must and will make all the difference..I did consider blasting but its all extra expense and the shell is great generally so stripper it is..

Yep taking shape thanks..as for the colour i was initially going with willow green but I'm having second thoughts and considering a pale grey with a snowberry white roof..dilemma !!

hmmm I am a fan of both those colours.... for me it would be green as do like a green van..
