Lots of things are 'handy', even if you never use them, and I never throw anything away. I still have my school suit that I wore 60 years ago.

A friend used to tell me he didn't mind old age or retirement.... considering what the alternative was.

I've been retired exactly 11 years now and I simply love it.
Don't know how I ever found time to go to work every day .
Plenty of time to play with classic cars and fly gliders.

I used to fly gliders.
I have always thought that if an air hostess burst out of the cockpit, crying, "the pilot has died, can any one fly", I'd stick my hand up, on the assumption that if I can stay up without an engine, it should be a doddle with one.

I totally agree, I took early retirement 2.5 years ago and it's the best job I have ever had, I take the grand kids to school every day, go gym twice a week and spend dry days either working on or driving my Mini.
Long may it continue

I've been semi-retired the past 7 years, usually doing about 3 - 4 days a month, which when it is 'on' is a real nuisance always comes along at a bad time, though, this past year has been just about full time again and likely to be so for about another 6 months, I do hope for no more, as I can't stand doing this full time crud.

The one thing I have enjoyed about retirement is not getting up in the dark every morning

I retired 3 years ago
Had great ambitions to improve my Squash game and play in Scottish over 65 masters regional competitions .....
However .... Year 1 .. umbilical hernia operation .. 8 weeks recovery , Year 2 ... triple crucial ligament rupture .... 10 months recovery
Year 3 .. Achilles’ tendon rupture ... 12 weeks recovery only just getting back to playing now.
Lol
Maybe you should find another sport?

I have been retired for six years exactly, in the time since I have lived in Cyprus for two, relocated to
WestYorkshire, restored two Minis and am two thirds through the through tidying up and re-comisioning
a Mini 30 for a friend. HappyDays.
