I’ve only ever done a couple of local shows and never been to a big mini event.
L2b always seems appealing (mostly for the big plaque)

So would this be worth me attempting to drive my mini 160 miles  227 miles?!?!
The furthest I’ve been so far is 40 miles. Lol

You’ll be waiting along time for the IMM to be in the UK after this one so make the most of it.
L2B is also something to tick off your bucket list, is a brilliant weekend!

Sounds like I best book the week off work. And pay for AA/RAC platinum ultra double bubble wrapped breakdown cover.

One gets to a certain age and....

The benefit of camping is that everyone is together, in a compound with your car parked next to your tent, so you know the car's going to be safe.

That said, trying to escape a small lightweight tent that barely has room to contain you, with a certain amount of style as to not fall into your neighbours tent in the night to pee, forgetting your torch and not knowing where the hell you are {quite possibly having drunk a little too much though you think you've convinced everyone there with you that its the effect of over exposure to the sun} may offset the mostly sleepless night wondering if your most treasured possession has been stolen from the hotel car park...hhhhmmmm.

No way I will be in a hotel. Too many old friends to get drunk with and new ones to meet.

Does it follow the same protocol as F1 camping and festivals of randomly shouting “ALAN!”

I saw it from both sides. There's around 20 of us, including some American and Australian visitors, staying in the hotel, so I'm happy. I like my creature comforts 😂 the hotel has a secure under ground car park (gotta check these things!) . Would rather not have a disturbed sleep from people getting drunk until the early hours.
Horses for courses, but should never criticise someone for their accommodation choice 😊

In my 22 years in the RAF I’ve never “ checked in “, benefits of bouncing from one JHC unit to the next, or just unlucky...
Back on topic, as others have said camping does offer a unique experience, getting amongst it sometimes has its rewards
