You can’t. You have to link to where you have hosted them.

Yes you can and there are several ways.
First off, if its a picture already on the forum then cut and paste onto the msg.
if you have imgur, then use the code below.
BBCode (message boards & forums)
I have tested this and it does work.
exactly what i said.

Apologies, i was testing something with my sons account.
So to make things clear, yes Nick you are correct however to add to this which i did on my sons account you can copy and paste across a picture from the forum if its already on there as well as a link from a photo hosting platform.

Yep. So it has been hosted here. Same as from imgur etc. But if it is already posted on here would you need/want to send it in a PM?

It could be a specific request to another member and wanted to keep it personal.

A very small few times, I been able to post photos directly, I have no idea why they worked but they did. These were 'fresh' photos from my own file, that I just copied and pasted. This has only been a small handful of times though.

I just attach photos straight from the gallery from my phone. Have to use 'full' version not 'mobile' version and I think you can only do it if your subscription is up to date.
That's the option I was looking for but it doesn't appear in TMF messenger, normal or advanced version. In the end I posted the pictures on one of my posts and then imported them into the PM I was writing.

If I'm reading that right you're attaching them. All the forums I've used discourage you from attaching photos that way because it uses up bandwidth and encourage using an external host like Photoracket or Imgur,

But then when it goes belly-up like Photoracket (or they decide to hold all their subscribers to ransom) you lose all the images!

Aye, it's a gamble! Perhaps someone who really knows about these things can best advise?

That would be good.

We always recommend using someone like Imgur now (not Photothieves, that caused the forum a lot of grief and especially Deathrow as he managed to work some voodoo getting things to show)
And yes they could do the same as Photothieves but hopefully not.

Photoracket, Photothives,,,, Love those terms - how true !
But then when it goes belly-up like Photoracket (or they decide to hold all their subscribers to ransom) you lose all the images!
Well,,,,,, when they are / were free we can't really expect much. Then when an opportunist comes along, they can take a chance at cashing in.
