Had the car on the road yesterday with the sc gears and rally clutch with orange diaphram. It went like a rocket but started to cut out on idle and now wont start at all. Bugger!

I'm gonna upgrade to high amp battery wire (as car is fibreglass and has to earth on the engine. Also gonna get rid of elctronic ignition as it is awfull.

Need to change clutch master to because clutch disengages when foot is almost on the floor. Bit dangerous, don't wont to blow my gearbox up.

The problem with the clutch is quite a common one with pre-verto clutches... I believe the plunger rod in the slave cylinder is the problem, so if I were you i'd change your slave cylinder for a new one (it's like 15 quid isn't it?) since they are quite cheap. Unless of course yours was recently purchased. Then you might want to try to adjust the clutch before replacing something so expensive as a master cylinder!

Good luck :]

Cheers Pavel, But I changed the slave first as the last one imediately popped due to the orange diaphram.

CLutch is brand new rally spec one and is adjusted correctly, so it has to be the master. I have got one that I removed from Smurfy so won't cost anything.

Minty now has a new starter motor and I laid some thick 4Gauge battery wire.

I'm having such bad luck recently.
After my garage being burgled whilst at MITP 45, my girlfriend reversed into Minty and destroyed the wheel arch. Then that very same day I come back to him after work to find a dead flat Yoko and all the others have got loads of stones in.

unlucky mate! I bet those blended archs are tricky to fix too. Minty still looks wicked though, i had a good look over him at MITP and hes a class act.
