I saw this on a website, it is a cold air feed hose with some sort of scoop at the front which mounts behind the grill of a mini.
Problem is, i cant remember which site i saw it on!!!!
Anybody know where i might be able to get one?

they are a bit of a gimmick really
a mini has a very large front grill and doesn't suffer from a hot engine bay

Similar to the frontflow one but for a classic mini, and it was a lot cheaper. And bungle, its to direct cold air onto the filter.

No
I think it'll be highly effective at making somebody money.

I’ve gone for the Keith Calver idea of modifying the air box and using a K&N replacement filter.
I was thinking of a similar idea using a length of hose to come from the intake of the air filter box into the back of the heater intake by the grill but wondered about the ram air affect i.e. could it weaken your mixture? Still undecided

Well all i want it for is to blow cold air onto a K&N cone filter. A mate of mine has the same system in his BMW which works very well.

and all we are trying to tell you is they dont blow any more air that the front grill does
now if you want it for looks then go for it

i can't remember if it was on here or on another mini forum, but someone tested the effectiveness of a "cold air feed" that they had bought or made. And to cut a long story short over anywhere over 15mph the ambient temperature at the carb was the same as the temperature at the grill. And below 15mph there was only a 1-2c difference. So it did not help what so ever.
The best way to cool the mixture is by cooling the fuel (see the vizard bible) or a way to cool the inlet manifold/ stop the heat transfering from the engine to the manifold.

What about when i put 4 spotlights on the front grill. I read in miniworld that this can block the airflow, so one of these units will help in that case wouldnt it?
