Sorry for the lack of updates guys other things have got in the way recently and I really haven't done anything. Have got back around to it now so progress should be more forthcoming.

For those of you that asked the manifold does fit with loads of room to spare as well!!!

Which is good news.

One issue I have encountered is the with the new angle the bloody switch thing is catching but no worries I'll fudge something around that

On Saturday I had a really productive day but actually did nothing lol!!. I know it sounds weird but I actually got all of my wiring organised in my head and on paper so that shouldn't cause me too many headaches now.

On that note I matched up all of the connectors on my engine loom and ECU loom apart from one. Pic is below has anybody seen this before and have any idea what it might be used for?

Its in a pretty bad state whatever it is used for!!

Also you know the big water pipe that runs across the back of the block it has two nipples coming off it either side of the oil filter. In the Civic what did these plumb into originally?

The plug you have is for the alternator, doesn't seem in that bad nick, mine looks like that and works a charm

As for the two pipes on the back, i take it you mean the one large and one small one? The larger one is for the oil cooler and the other goes to the inlet manifold

Hi Kieran

Thank you for your reply. However I'm a little confused now as the connector I have on the alternator looks nothing like the big green thing I have here. I think the connector on my alternator is much smaller and only has like 3 pins?

Cheers for the info on the oil cooler!! Also the big fatter pipe to the right of the oil filter as you look down, I'm thinking maybe a heater pipe?

Nice to see you still working on this

As Kieran said its your alternator plug, your alternator and engine wiring loom couldn't have come from the same donor car as one is OBD 1 and 2, check out this link, you just need to splice up and doody whatsitcalled to it, sorry to get all technical  :whistling:

Again Kieran mentioned about your water hoses, here's another picture to double check against, scroll about 1/3 down

Skinny girls to the left, fatty pipes to the right? of the oil filter right?

Can only think of a coolant hose, is it a U bend shape? If so then yeah one end to the block (driver side) and other to the back of the inlet (directly above)

Im seems a bit strange, that plug is definetly an alternator plug, I butcher mine on my build thread on page 13ish I think if you want to check it out.

The pipe on the right is only for the oil cooler. Your heater pipes come from under the dizzy and the thermostat which is located on the left hand side of the engine.

First link on there should help you :)

I found a pick of the setup that I have at the moment (borrowed it)

I was being an idiot the pipe I'm on about is the big fat one in the bottom right of the picture. Where do I plumb that one into? Cheers

Well basically I have had zero time this summer to work on the mini really but next couple of months are freeish so progress has resumed.

Not much of an update but attacked the wiring this weekend. Laid it all out on a big board so that I could see what was going on and when it works I'll condense it later!

Well it has been a long time since I posted on this thread!

Basically in short I bought a house and as such had neither time nor money to spend on the mini.

However the good news is the new house has a garage, finally somewhere to keep my mini indoors!!!!

This weekend I painted the garage with some industrial level floor paint which is frickin awesome stuff. Literally anything I might spill on it water, oil etc will just sit on the surface where I can just wipe it up with blue roll!

So this will be the minis home shortly and I can start working on her again!! More pics to follow next weekend when she has moved in!!
