Update:
I have been quite busy recently, have got a new door step welded in and the door hinge pillars are weleded in too, the door fits pretty well which is a big bonus.
Have completely stripped the interior now and finally got the wiring loom out:
The engine bay is now all stripped and front panel removed:
The next job I`m concentrating on is putting a floor pan in the drivers footwell, im, going to drill two holes at the back towards to cross-member and use the subframe holes in the original floor to bolt it tight down before I weld the new one over the top.
Am a bit busy this weekend but have got next week off so will hopefully be able to get quite a bit done.
Have bought a 1275 engine which I`m going to strip rebuild with different cams etc
Took the head off last night because the body work was doing my head in and I`m new to all this and was just curious, unfortunately its going to need a re-bore but luckily it hasnt been done before. You can the lip at the top of the bore, going to measure it with an internal mic in a bit and see how bad it is

Have now got the floor pan repair in:
I have cut away most of the scuttle panel (will cut the rest off tomorrow), I could now get to the top or the inner wing around the fresh air vent, it did look like this:

Cheers mate , I`m really into it at the moment and working on it whenever I can. Makes me feel a lot better when I can actually see that I`m getting somewhere with it.

I have now started on the other side which isn`t as bad thankfully. I have welded a repair panel is and then made another patch to close it off at the top under where the scuttle will be.
I got given a Hadrian full scuttle panel but unfortunately it didnt fit at all so I now have a heritage one which fits alot better. I have marked where the scuttle will sit on the pillars and cut it out so the pillars and the scuttle butt together now.
My next job is to tidy up the inner wing rails where the wings sit and then start setting the front end panels, thats going to be fun

Have made a fair bit of progress lately.
I now have a new heritage scuttle panel welded in. Had to drill and plug weld it in as the spot welder I have would not go through.
I have also welded the new front panel in.
I`m having to get hold of a new bonnet though as the one that came with the car was a non genuine one, it over hangs the front panel and inner wings by about half an inch if not more
Once I have got the new bonnet that hopefully fits a lot better I will start to get the wings to fit.

I have now finished off the scuttle, ground all the welds flat and then used some filler to smooth it all off:
Have also done the same with the new doorstep:

I took the rear wheel arch off today and I found a hole after a bit of poking around with a screwdriver:
It is a bit bigger than that too, it had lots of paper behind as someone had just filled it
After some more poking around I put my hand through the arch and into the boot.
It was going quite well too

I have made a decision that I`m going to replace the inner and outer wings with heritage panels. Had a go at fitting a non gen wing yesterday and it was a mile out plus the top rail of the inner wing is too rusty to weld properly to.
