160 hp is normal for a Yamaha R1 so it's the same as a 1600 vtec and less than the bigger Honda's or Vauxhall's so it should be fine and of course a lot less torque
I hope anyway, with a Quaife ATB and Yokohama AO48R that I should have enough grip

just got an email from minifilms.co.uk
ULTIMATE MINI MADNESS
Our next track based event will be Ultimate Mini Madness. We looked at
a number of different concepts for a new Mini dvd, but when I saw some
of the cars I already had on my books there was only one way to go!
We've another mad selection of cars with newcomers including a Suzuki
Swift engined offering, Rover K-series Mini and front-engined Yamaha R1
powered car. Along with a 200+bhp Integra Type R Clubman, 180bhp KAD
16-valve, loony Turbo A-series and others, it's going to be a real
laugh. We're going to be running at Curborough using the track
'back-to-front' (ie anti-clockwise) with all new camera angles,
starting with a standing start and hopefully with a GPS based 0-60mph
time for each car. We're turning Ultimate Mini Madness round very
quickly, with a self-imposed deadline of Mini In The Park on the 21st
August.
keep your eyes peeled for that one guys

There's a guy at all the shows who sells a spaceframe beachbuggy kit, with A-series hangin off the back of it. Anyway, I got talking to him, and he's got a Honda blackbird engine in the front of his mini. -Very torquey. Are people using other motorbike engines?
I would have thought that a Bandit 1200 or the newer 1400 would have been a good choice of motors to use.
Standard Bandit 1200 engine is 114bhp as standard, and with a stage 3, 162 or more is possible (going by my Dads old streetfighter).
John
Z-cars also do kits for kawasaki zx engines and blackbirds. Well they used to, dunno if they still advertise them.
